Well, hi there!

I’m Amber, a small-town girl with a big-time passion for my family, ministry, and  Diet Coke. My husband, Chad, is a pastor, so I know firsthand the joy it is to serve our church but fully acknowledge the unique challenges that come with ministry life. Together we’re navigating the wild, grace-filled adventure of raising two amazing daughters in the preteen and teen years.

When I’m not hanging with my family or serving at my church, you’ll find me multitasking on my laptop in my car, as I wait for one of the girls to finish with practice, or channeling my inner organizer on a drawer, cabinet, or to-do list. I am quite possibly the most boring person you’ll ever meet—and I wear that title proudly. Give me a quiet night, a well-organized pantry, and I’m living my best life.

I love using the gifts God’s given me to serve the Church—helping leaders focus on people and the Gospel while I handle the details that keep ministry moving forward.

How it started

Called… for what?

Two decades ago, I began my career in education at a private Christian school, surrounded by incredible people who invested in me spiritually and professionally. I worked my way into leadership roles, loved my community, and wore just about every hat imaginable:

  • Teacher

  • Assistant

  • Department head

  • Camp director

  • Accountant

  • Occasional toilet cleaner (humility, right?)

  • Fundraiser

  • Event Planner

I thrived on learning, mastering new skills, and making an impact… but I never felt fully settled.

Serial Skill Collector

I liked too many different things. I’d try something, succeed at it, then think, “Cool… what’s next?”
All along, I was searching for my true calling. What was the thing I was created to do?? And, when on earth would I figure it out?!

The Nudge

Fast forward to 2018, when God planted an idea: What if I helped some local churches organize and plan their VBS? I could help churches that don’t have the resources to hire a full-time position, but still want to execute with excellence.

And I… ignored it. (Not my brightest moment.)

I stayed 'stuck'—unsure, moving from role to role, even joining another nonprofit ministry. And while I really enjoyed what I was doing, the unsettled feeling followed me.

Lightbulb

Then one night, talking with Chad, the vision came flooding back but, this time, I couldn’t shake it. It consumed me. Ideas popped in my head in the middle of the night of what this could look like, and it went way beyond VBS. The desire to “do a little of everything” finally made sense. God had wired me for this work, to partner with churches to further the Gospel.

Connecting the Dots

I started thinking, if the greatest thing I can accomplish is fulfilling Jesus’s command to go and make disciples, how could I exponentially multiply my efforts? Once I pieced together the call to the Great Commission, and the need for churches just like yours to have support, a fire was lit.

How do I multiply my impact?

Equip His Church by handling the details so every soul can be pursued.

That’s why Virtually Called exists—to partner with ministries just like yours, so you can focus on the Gospel while I wrangle the to-do lists, inboxes, and all the moving pieces.

And you better believe I'll be drinking a Diet Coke while I do it.
